Engine and Tanker Run Hay Bale Fire in Tell Twp., Huntingdon County
Monday, July 4th, 2022

At 12:36Hrs, Company 5 was dispatched to Tell Township, Huntingdon County, 16103 Shade Valley Road, assisting Company 7 (East Waterford Fire) extinguishing hay bales on fire outside. Tanker 5 responded shortly after dispatch with a crew of 2, Chief 5-2 (K. Zook) and Engine 5 also responded shortly after dispatch with a crew of 4, Lieutenant 5 (J. Lyter) in the seat. Tanker 5 arrived on scene and supplied Tanker 7 with water, while crews from Tanker and Engine 5 assisted with extinguishment and breaking apart hay by hand. Engine 5 then was requested to set up a fill site at a nearby pond. Once under control, Chief 7 released Tanker 5 to go refill, and help Engine 5 break down the fill site. Tanker and Engine 5 were cleared from the call at 14:32Hrs.
